SD BIOSENSOR research center is consisted of Research Planning Department, where planning new technologies and research areas is carried out through professional workers and techonologies, Sensor Development Department where biosensors and diagnostic reagents are developed, Molecular Diagnostics Development Department in charge of MDx technology researches, and Instrument Development Department which develops platforms.

Sensor Development Department
Sensor Development Department aims to expand the range of products covered by developing various products from point of care products to immunodiagnostic products. It seeks to become competitive by developing products that are both convenient and accurate.

1. Immunodiagnostic reagent manufacturing technology
- Development of various IVD products and diagnostic reagents.
- Includes: Rapid, ELISA, FIA, and reagents of blood-borne diseases, sexually transmitted diseases, cardiovascular diseases, febrile diseases, respiratory diseases, and sexual hormones related diseases.
- Application of source materials and measuring system through R&D network.
- Development of highly accurate and sensitive test strips with mass production technology.

2. Biosensor technology
- Understanding the operate principle of major biotargets, and develop technology that measures the level of physiological markers which show special reaction to biomaterials that have a function of molecular recognition like antigen-antibodies
- Technology that use electrochemical or optical principle or markers, such as gold and fluorescence nanoparticles, to signaling the particular reaction of biomaterials.

Molecular Diagnostic Development Department
Molecular Diagnostic Development Department aims for R&D of Nucleic Acid Amplification Technology, Nucleic Acid Extraction Technology, and POC cartridge technology in order to develop molecular diagnostics products for point of care tests. Human infectious diseases, drug resistant diseases are some of the areas covered for molecular diagnostic technology researches and product developments enabling early diagnostics on the scene.
